SAMANTHA JACQUES

I am currently the Chief Meteorologist at 13 ON YOUR SIDE in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am a Michigan native, growing up in Shelby Township, where I first discovered my unwavering passion for weather.

 

I attended Central Michigan University to earn my Meteorology degree, where I was an involved member of the meteorology department, working as a teaching assistant for three years. Beyond my involvement at CMU, I interned at WJBK Fox 2 Detroit, worked at News Central 34, CMU’s on-campus station, and served as the mid-day Meteorologist for 9&10 News in Northern Michigan.  

 

My passion for weather stems from my undeniable desire to learn more about science and communicate the importance of STEM education. Now, I hope to use my platform to spark a passion for the atmosphere and our environment in kids and, most importantly, inspire young girls to join the STEM field.

 

I spend my spare time with my husband and daughter, exploring this state I call home, doing yoga, and, of course, playing with my two silly dogs.
